Overview

The three-part true crime documentary "The Devil's Couple" reveals how Jean-Claude Lacote and Hilde Van Acker used a web of intrigue and deceit to lure victims across Europe, culminating in the gruesome murder of British businessman Marcus Mitchell. Meanwhile, they themselves—using their victims' fortunes—led to an extravagant lifestyle, boasting exclusive sports cars, a private jet, and luxury apartments. Thanks to their influential connections in the highest echelons of society, they managed to evade justice for 25 years, until their arrest in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, in 2019.
