His stage name was inspired by the Japanese director Kaneto Shindō.

He voiced iconic characters such as Rei in Fist of the North Star, M'Quve in Mobile Suit Gundam, Iason in Ai No Kusabi and Gray Fox in Metal Gear Solid.
