
Howard Overman
Biography
Howard is a prolific figure in television, serving as co-creator, executive producer, and lead writer for the acclaimed 13-part series "Atlantis" on BBC1 and BBC America. Starting his TV writing journey on hits like "Hustle" and "New Tricks" for the BBC, he joined "Merlin" in 2008 and created lauded series such as the BAFTA-winning "Misfits" (E4) and the police-procedural comedy "Vexed" (BBC2). His executive production includes "Dirk Gentley" (BBC4) and the E4 comedy-horror "Crazyhead." Additionally, he helmed the successful "Future Man" (Hulu), overseen by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, spanning three seasons from 2017 to 2020.
In 2019, Howard penned a modern 8-part adaptation of HG Wells' "War of the Worlds" for Fox Networks Group and Canal+, featuring acclaimed actors Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern. The series achieved record ratings in France for Canal+ and received global acclaim, paving the way for a second series written by Howard.
